All Hail Pizza Girls

I'm finding that in my pizzalicious haunts around the internet that the world of pizza can sometimes be a bit of a boys club. This hallowed day in National Pizza Month we celebrate those most pizzalicious ladies. This blog is for all the awesome pizza girls out there!

In the anime series Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion the character C.C. (pronounced C2) is an immortal with the outward appearence of a teenaged girl with long, shocking green hair. C.C. loves pizza, especially from Pizza Hut (one of the shows sponsors) and carries around a stuffed toy of Cheese-kun, the Japanese Pizza Hut mascot. Other characters sometimes refer to her as "Pizza Girl" or "The Grey Wicth."

In episode 32 of Futurama, "The Cryonic Woman," Turnaga Leela mistakenly implant's Fry's old pizza delivery job chip into herself and becomes New New York City's best looking cyclops delivery girl. Leela is voiced by Katey Sagal (Peggy Bundy). I love this show.

The daily web comic Questionable Contnent by Jeph Jacques, the character Pizza Girl appears in several episodes. Every time she is awesome. Some one over at Applegeeks loved her so much they made some wicked cool fan art for her. Check it out.

"Missy [Green] is a student at the University of Mississippi and has been the director of Throw Dough sales for the last few years. She has perfected her pizza-spinning skills by learning from U.S. Pizza Team Trainer and brother, Chris Green. She is always looking to learn the latest pizza-spinning moves and is proud to carry on the family pizza tradition and she hopes to pass it on to her children. "The reason I love pizza because it's the universal food; that has been incorporated by all cultures and loved by all."" -From the US Pizza Team Website.

Missy is awesome and possibly the real life Super Pizza Girl. Check out how ridiculously cute she is spinning dough in Dallas this year. Jai Ho!

A Pizza Girl of the blog Diary of A Pizza Girl is great. I love reading her blog and her tweets. Her blog features interviews, delivery etiquette, tips on tipping, and general witty banter. It's a must read for any pizza fan. She is definitely also in the running for the secret identity of the real life Super Pizza Girl.

"Ever wonder what your pizza girl thinks of you? Is she mocking you? (yes) Does she notice that you're in your underwear? (yes, and doesn't care) and most importantly did she spit in my pizza? (No! but I wish you swine-flu if you don't tip me)" - From Diary of a Pizza Girl

Sex and Pizza is the diary of a "single, almost 30 year-old, queer, college graduated, pizza delivery girl and phone sex operator." This sometimes scandalous blog is a great place to learn how much a pizza delivery girl really makes in a night.

Pizza Girls. Pizzalicious friends Jen ad Phoebe opened a pizzeria at 114 S Clematis St in West Palm Beach, in 2000. They opened with no previous pizza experience and since then they have been the subject of rave reviews from the NY Times, The Palm Beach Post and more. Their small shop is still bringing NY style slices to Florida today with a 4/5 star rating on Yelp. I'll definitely visit you pizzalicious ladies if I'm ever in Palm Beach.
