Piccola's - Richmond, VA

Yesterday was a pretty gray, rainy day so Mom and I headed over to Piccola's for a pizza after running some errands. It has been a while since I've had a pie from Piccola's and it was as wonderful as I remembered it being.

We ordered the Piccola's special - pepperoni, mushrooms, sausage, green peppers and onion- but we substituted olives for onions. It was delicious. The crust was just right and the sauce was nice and sweet- though I would have liked a little more sauce. There was tons of cheese and I love how at Piccola's they have slices of sausage instead of little meatballs.

Geez now I am really hungry. Is there still a left over piece in the fridge at home?? Having the Italian tv programs on in Piccolla's really lent an atmosphere1

Yeah dude!!!!
I have to say I'm a big fan of Piccola as well. Sometimes just their cheese pizza by the slice is the best thing ever. I miss it so much!!!!

One day, I'd like to perform a scientific study on the suble differences between Piccola's, Mary Angela's, Pronto's, and Arianna's. Those are all the same family, right?

Robo,
Mary Angela's, Piccola's, Arianna's, Nonna's, Madini's, and Pronto's are all owned by the same "family." Lol. They are the Richmond pizza dynasty! so delish! I'm down for any taste testing or experiments!

Anonymous,
Yes. It's true. My mother is a gorgeous, smart and sophisticated lady! <3

It's a good place to go and Piccola's has been making and selling the best pizza! I really appreciate this kind of efforts because we're the winners, so I wish they can keep doing what they want with the pizza. 23jj

My first visit to RVA, a friend of mine took me to Piccola's. Amazing calzones. They take time, but they're totally worth it. :)
